Martin Olczak is an author whose life is literature. He grew up in a world surrounded by books and great storytellers and is, in his own words, marinated to the bone with tales and anecdotes. “As a child I could quote Elizabeth Bennet before I mastered the multiplication table,” he points out. He devours books with great appetite. And when not reading he has been thinking and fantasizing, spending endless hours creating his own stories.
His motto concerning what reading should be like is “entertaining, thought-provoking and full of suspense”. His favorite writers range from classics such as Jane Austen, Edgar Allan Poe and A. A. Milne, to contemporary authors like Haruki Murakami och Carlos Ruiz Zafón, to mention a few.
Martin Olczak made a teenage-debut with an anthology of poetry and has written more than twenty successful children’s books, especially adventure series. He has been a screenwriter for several famous TV-shows and also worked as a journalist.
The Academy Murders is his debut as a novelist, a thrilling adventure with pace and ingenuity - a fog-veiled and poetic touch add atmosphere to the story, and is well balanced by the finesse and richly detailed and ravishing narrative style.
