Three years has passed since Julia's husband Martin died and at home in Sweden it feels as if the grief is dragging her down. When the two children leave home, the loneliness becomes increasingly painful. On a whim, she books a trip to Nice, where the sun always shines – at least according to the old tourist posters from the 1930s.
On the Riviera, Julia meets two women who, like her, have sought a new start. Lisa, the entrepreneur who has sold her company and left her ex-husband and son in Sweden, and Michelle who fled Paris after her secret relationship with the boss was revealed. Making new friends after 50 gives Julia hope. But how will she be able to fall in love again when her heart is frozen solid and locked with double locks?
During the vignette "Riviera dreams", Julia starts writing a column for a Swedish magazine where she explores new places with her girlfriends. Slowly but surely, she dares to open up to the possibility of love again. Maybe she can, like the lavender fields, find a way to bloom and bloom again. Over and over again.
Where the Lavender Fields Bloom is the first part in the new novel series Riviera dreams about Julia and her newfound friends Lisa and Michelle. Gripping feelgood about friendship, love and new ways of life.
