In 1902, Margareta Olofsson arrives in America. Left in Sweden are her parents and siblings and the much-loved loom. But in the new country her future husband John is waiting. The couple gets married and creates a life with a farm, animals and many children.

But Margareta walks around with a great loss inside her. She longs to return to Sweden, and she misses her weaving. After suffering a severe grief, she is given a loom. The weaving becomes not only a work of mourning, but leads her straight into an incredible career. She becomes a highly regarded weaver and travels across America teaching and lecturing. But will she ever be able to see her homeland again?
