Drama, passion and heartbreaking love in a ballet environment – a beautiful but harsh world that demands discipline on all levels. The first part of a new, contemporary romance series about the dancers at the Royal Swedish Ballet School and further in their careers.
Jolene moves to Stockholm with the goal of following in her father's footsteps and becoming a principal dancer at the Opera. She has promised herself that nothing will come between her and dance, but when she meets André she cannot resist. Both carry heavy emotional baggage, so the relationship becomes stormy and does not end well. Ten years later their paths cross again. Jolene now works at the Opera and the meeting with André brings back a lot of memories and emotions. What really happened between them? Now the past is catching up with them, for better or worse.

“I knew from the prologue that this would be something really special…Because this is not just a love story, it is a story about dreams, betrayal, redemption and about daring to give love a second chance. I really like second chance romance and Anna writes with such fluidity and an easy-to-read language that I can’t put the book down. It is romance at its very best: romantic, painful and completely immersive.
Thankfully, this isn't the type of romance that describes everything in minute detail for the reader, from genitals to sex positions, but this is hot on another level – where chocolate balls play a small role. 5 out of 5 ”- @bokbesatt
“When an author dares to challenge the Swedish convention of what romance is and writes something that manages to touch the reader deeply, magic happens. That's exactly what Anna Lönnqvist has done with her wonderful book First Position. Highest Rating: ❤️❤️❤️ ❤️ ❤️ A must read” - @fantastiskaromance
” Anna Lönnqvist has now set the bar high for Swedish romance!” - @boknjutaren
"What makes the book extra strong is how dance permeates the entire story – not only as an art form but as a symbol of control, freedom, pain and strength. The balance between the physical and the emotional is skillfully portrayed, and the characters feel real and alive.
First Position is more than a love story – it’s a story about courage, trust and daring to let go. Perfect for those who love strong emotions, believable relationships and stories that stay with you after the last page.” - @Ihuvudetpamalin
"First Position actually caught me right away, and it was such a reading experience where you constantly want to read more but at the same time I dragged on reading because I didn't want the book to end too quickly.
Jolene and André were two characters that I loved reading about, both together and separately. They both had such depth, they had been through events in their own way and they felt so realistic and their thoughts and feelings were felt right to the heart. Something I also appreciated was that there weren't too many hot scenes, but instead there was a lot of focus on the characters' feelings for each other, their chemistry and their expectations. Now I'm not saying that it's bad to have a lot of hot scenes, but you might get what I mean. Rating 5/5" - @Bokugglor
