Malin Sturesson lives in Kristianstad, in southern Sweden. In the fall of 2025, she made her debut as an author with the historical feel-good novel Sisterhood at the Wool Factory (Yllans snillrika systrar), which had a flying start and is loved by the readers. While working on the novel, Malin has become interested in and immersed herself in the history of her hometown and the Skåne wool factory during the early 20th century.

Malin grew up in another part of Skåne but later moved to Kristianstad. There she lives with her husband and two children in a renovated house from the fifties. She is a trained journalist and communicator. For just over ten years, Malin worked at Sverige Radio as a news journalist and program host. She hosted a live afternoon program for several years. It is an experience that she has benefited from when she now appears as an author or takes on assignments as a moderator for conversations with other authors.

Besides her work as an author she works as a communicator in the public sector. She then writes analyses of complaints in the health and medical services with the aim of contributing to quality improvement and increased patient safety. Within the framework of her position, she is also the program host of a podcast about patient safety. Malin has been awarded the Region Skåne's Great Equal Rights Prize for an analysis of complaints from patients who have experienced discrimination in healthcare and has been nominated for Public Communicator of the Year 2023. When Malin is not writing, she spends time with her family, hot yoga and other exercise, or reading.

Malin Sturesson about her writing:

The first part of the series about the women at the Skåne wool factory in Kristianstad at the turn of the last century is my debut novel. As a journalist and communicator, I have been asked many times over the years whether I should write a book. It was not until 2025 that I was able to answer those who asked that I had done just that. When I started writing fiction, I looked at the old brick building in my hometown with new eyes. As someone who moved to Kristianstad in Skåne only after Yllan, as it is popularly called, became something other than a textile factory, it has been interesting to delve into the local industrial history. The story that emerged is not only about what could have happened in my hometown 120 years ago, but also says something about the history of women in our country and Sweden. It is about strong friendship, sisterhood and the fight for justice. It is something I look forward to highlighting in my future books.
