Eleonor Sager works as a film and TV producer and will release her fourth relationship novel in the summer of 2026. Her third novel, Jul i Sankt Anna, has been adapted for film and will have its world premiere on Netflix this year under the title Bara till jul /The Christmas Switch.
Eleonor studied and worked as a journalist before transitioning into the film industry, where she now runs the production company Ivy Prodco. Her producing credits include the Netflix films One More Time, and The Christmas Switch, the Cannes-nominated series Handen på Hjärtat (Out of Touch), and during her fifteen years at FLX she worked on projects such as Bonusfamiljen (The Bonus family) Torpederna, Solsidan, and Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann.
Her debut novel Älskar, älskar inte and its sequel Lyckan kommer lyckan går follow the Lind sisters, who live in the same city but find themselves in very different places in life. Jul i Sankt Anna is about the Stjärne family, whose Christmas turns out to be anything but what they had planned, while the upcoming book explores what happens if you in your thirties returns to the boy you were hopelessly in love with in high school. With relationships at the core and romantic attraction as the driving force, her books have found a devoted audience among both critics and readers.
Eleonor lives in Bromma, Stockholm, with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys watching films from the 1990s, hopes to find the time to take up horseback riding again, and sings—very off-key but with great enthusiasm—Wuthering Heights at karaoke whenever she gets the chance. Her television career, however, peaked long ago when she landed a role as a Shetland pony on the comedy show Hey Baberiba.
She founded and runs the production company Ivy Prodco together with Ulf Kvensler, Pontus Edgren and Per Gavatin.
Eleonor on her writing:
"My books are, quite simply, about the greatest thing of all: love. I adore the incredible power of the will-they-won’t-theyengine—it is, to me, far stronger than the whodunit equivalent. Portraying that bubbling, glittering rush of new love, or the darkness that comes when something beautiful slips through your fingers, is my absolute favorite thing to do.
I enjoy writing contemporary stories set on the heights of Södermalm or amid the sparkle of the archipelago. I explore friendship, family dynamics, and self-realization—stories filled with warmth, relatability, and hopefully a touch of humor.
Relationships, in all their forms, fascinate me.
Because aren’t they, after all, the meaning of life?"
