The White Night

Mountain rescuer Mira Salo in Kiruna is drawn into a nightmarish drama, when four charred bodies are found on a rock ledge in the mining mountain Loussavaara. One of the victims survives but is badly injured and must be put to sleep before the police can get any answers about what happened. Soon they manage to trace the victims to a mountain cabin and understand that there must have been a fifth person in the cabin. Is it the killer? And if so, what is the motive?

Mira's mother-in-law, police chief Boel, does everything to keep Mira out of the investigation for professional but also personal reasons. Meanwhile, Mira's sister Hilda appears in Kiruna. Hilda seems to be on the run from something, or someone, in Stockholm. Now she wants to reconnect with Mira and her partner and little daughter.

The more the truth unravels, the more connections are revealed between the murders, an unsolved case and the relationships Mira thought were unshakable. As Mira balances loyalty to her sister with her responsibilities as a mother and mountain rescuer, she is faced with a final and inevitable choice.
